PROTECTING EARTH'S GIANTS - TOGETHER.

Wondering how to make a lasting difference?
Help us create safe sanctuaries, where Giant Sequoias can thrive for generations to come.

As Seen In

We're The Great Reserve

Step inside our mission. This short film reveals why the world's most iconic trees are now officially Endangered and how as a global team we can secure their future in safe sanctuaries for centuries to come.

A Safe Haven for Centuries

California’s wildfires have already claimed entire Sequoia groves - trees that survived thousands of years are vanishing in one season. These giants, officially listed as Endangered by the IUCN Red List, are running out of time.

Here in the UK, stable soils and low wildfire risk give Sequoias a second chance to not only survive, but thrive in a safe environment.

Independently Audited

Backed by independent audits and certifications (Soil Association, FSC) with every tree GPS-marked and monitored.

Over 2000 Established

We have planted over 2000 Giant Sequoias across three UK reserves, alongside 6000+ native trees for biodiversity.

Long Term Vision

We're planting a 100,000-tree reserve across the UK to ensure these giants survive for centuries to come.

Your Name. Your Legacy. Your Sequoia.

Every tree comes with a named plaque, a GPS location so your family can always find it, and updates as it grows for centuries to come.
For many supporters, this isn’t just planting a tree - it’s planting their story into the earth.

Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers.

How are the trees planted?

Your Giant Sequoia planted on a 100m² plot of Great Reserve land (about the size of a 2 bed apartment) together with c.20 other nurse crop tress of varying species to provide protection from frost and wind. We plant 3 native trees for every Sequoia to promote biodiversity. The trees are protected from browsing wildlife by methods recommended to us by our forestry experts overseeing each reserve to promote maximum growth and success.

We use local forestry contractors for each of our reserves to support the local communities, and have donated Sequoia trees and provided education sessions to local schools to help with environmental awareness and learning.

How do you ensure the trees are protected?

We ensure we own the land the Sequoias are planted on to control the site. Furthermore once we have reached our goal of planting 100,000 Sequoias we intend to incorporate a foundation/charity to become the steward of the trees for their remaining natural lifetime.

In the event any Sequoia does not survive we replace it with a new sapling. Sequoia trees are notoriously hardy and we do not anticipate many losses of mature trees.

Why Sequoias and not natives?

We’re often asked why we don’t just plant native species. The answer is scale. Climate change is accelerating faster than any single solution can offset, and land available for reforestation is limited. To make every acre count, we plant the trees that capture the most carbon.

An acre of Giant Sequoias will sequester roughly 10 times more COâ‚‚ than an acre of UK native trees.

Giant Sequoias are unmatched in this - an acre of Giant Sequoias will sequester roughly 10 times more COâ‚‚ than an acre of UK native trees. Each reserve we plant also includes native trees typically oak, birch, and rowan, to support biodiversity and habitat health.

This isn’t about replacing native species. It’s about protecting the planet with a long-term, science-backed solution - combining the strength of the Sequoia with the diversity of Britain’s native trees.

What does the IUCN Red List actually mean?

It’s the world’s official record of how close each species is to disappearing forever.

When a species is listed as Endangered - like the Giant Sequoia - it means scientists have confirmed its numbers are declining fast enough that it could vanish from the wild within a few generations if nothing changes.

It’s not symbolic - it’s a global alarm bell backed by decades of research.
